Listen to our president as he said we are no longer a Christian nation. Please note the following words spoken at minute 1:28.
“Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal rather than religion specific values. What do I mean by this? It requires that their proposals be subject to argument and amenable to reason.” He goes on to give the example of abortion and the desire of some to ban the practice because of the teachings of a given church or evoking God’s will. He goes on to say.... “I have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths including those with no faith at all.”
THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST IS AT WORK CHANGING UNIVERSAL VALUES.
The Nones: Spiritual Decline and The Election
Pew Research recently released a survey in which they found that the religious majority in America is no longer “Protestant”. October was a month in which the spiritual fabric of our society became bare for all to see. Our national spiritual makeup, which used to be predominantly Protestant, has decreased to less than fifty percent. One fifth of all Americans say they have no religious affiliation, which is the highest amount ever in the research poll. These people with no named religious affliliation are being called THE NONES.
For those interested, “Religion & Ethics News Weekly” is producing a three-part mini-series called “None of the Above: The Rise of the Religiously Unaffiliated,” based in large part on the survey's findings. This is on PBS around the weekends of October: 19 and 26 (check local listings).
As is usually the case, there are those who are not seeing the significance of such a shift. They are touting that people still believe in God and pray (21 percent) even though they no longer have a spiritual affiliation with a particular group. But how is that going to impact the democratic process in a land where we pass laws and elect representatives by majorities?
Take time to watch the eye-opening video that comes with this article in USA Today.
Great revivals happened over the centuries and birthed the various protestant churches. Most Evangelical Christians come from protestant churches. “Protestant” is a name for many non-Catholic denominations: many that preach salvation through Jesus Christ alone. In America, over time, many in the cultural body of those claiming to be Christians have “left their first love”. It is evident by our laws and what is deemed important in our culture. We have become “open” to unscriptural ideas and, as the Israelites of old, we have meshed our belief system into a society composed of all religions, as we have welcomed everyone from everywhere. Instead of a country where we Christians, as the majority, influence the culture, we have become a body of believers in which the nonbelievers influence us. Using worldly gimmicks, we have even changed our standards to appeal to the world. We have listened to the religious input of those around us, putting the exclusivity of the cross down, and coming up with new religious ideas for a new age. The Christian witness of an important majority group has diminished. People have left their religious roots for their own reasons and not always replaced them with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone.
1 Timothy 4: 1
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”
Now we have polls to show us officially what many have seen and been warning us about. Over time this has left us absolutely spiritually bankrupt and it is questionable as to whether we can recover and collectively regain our influence. It is my hope that we can, but it must be God that intervenes and gives us more time. Perilous times are here.
For me, this election is about which candidate will best allow me to continue to worship God freely with the hopes that the true gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ alone can still be brought to others. Every soul is important. It is also a moral choice as to which candidate will best allow the believers to pursue the changing of ungodly laws. We need to truly repent of our sins as a land and as Christians. We must turn this situation around with the hopes that unrighteous laws will be repealed. This could be the last time that we are still in the majority enough to make a difference. Without a change, judgment will come sooner rather than later.
So, in the present tense, what is ultimately wrong with this picture of the protestant voice losing ground? What is the bottom line? It appears that there are no longer scriptural standards and Biblical absolutes for belief. Tied to the democratic process as we try to unite our laws to Judeo-Christian concepts, we Christians run the risk that we will now fail to influence society as a majority. Without our majority voice, more and more ungodly laws will be accepted into the land. These statistics also suggest that the absolute validity of the Scripture will be and is now being challenged by many of those called “religious” but unaffiliated with a church. Without a Biblical standard, I can see that “the new religious” will literally change right and wrong in our society, eradicate the idea of sin, make obsolete the need for a Savior, and thus destroy the souls of many in the end.
A new universal god is now ascending the spiritual throne of America. It is a god that will deceive even the elect if it is possible. The False Prophet will be heard and accepted because he will be inclusive of everyone and leave no one out. There will be something for everyone in order to deceive the masses. Many apostate groups are heading in this direction: Emergent Church, New Apostolic Reformation, Mainstream Denominations and Catholics. We now also have Muslims seeing their golden opportunity, for whatever reason, to join with Christians into a joint worship venture called Chrislam. A great convergence is taking place, a diabolical plan to lead the religious, with no true Savior, to hell. They will all deceptively compromise to include the NONES into a universal system. Remember, you must lay aside salvation through Jesus alone to be accepted.
Yes, we live in a land where Christianity is losing ground. Even if we lose our influence as a group, we must NEVER compromise belief in our wonderful Lord and what he did for each one of us as an individual. Please note that true believers cannot accept anyone on the throne with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Furthermore, He will not share His position as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will come back to rule and reign. First and foremost is the individual’s commitment to Him. Salvation is exclusive. It only comes in one way.
John 14: 6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
This spiritual process has been happening over time. It has left us absolutely spiritually bankrupt and it is questionable as to whether we can recover and claim our land for righteousness. If laws are being passed that are contrary to scriptural morality, it tells one that we are not the majority now. Christians can now be challenged, questioned and even belittled as “radicals” because we do not go along with the now ungodly majority. You are allowed to be a cultural Christian who is willing to compromise the gospel. Will it come to the point that we who will not compromise with a globally religious worldview are considered detrimental to society because of our extreme and narrow views? In a global society that wants to unite the world into one economic and religious system, yes. In fact, eventually that is exactly what will happen when we refuse to worship the Beast and the False Prophet.
So, now in the closing moments of this age in our land, we are at a turning point. This is the end times but do we have any more time? Perhaps we do. This election is critical. It is not because we have a Christian candidate to vote for, but because we have two distinct points of view. We have a choice here. Our current president, Barak Obama, is deceptive and we do not really know who he is. Many question that he is even an American citizen. If indeed he is a US citizen, his actions are global and not in the best interests of America. What is it about this man that makes him more interested in a global society than he is in an American society? It is the spirit of Antichrist.
This week I read the story of Samson again. (Judges, Chapter 16) He was a very backslidden Nazarite. Dedicated to the Lord from birth, he fell short of being the man of God he should have been. He did not keep his vows to God but he maintained his strength for quite a while. Satan allowed him to be caught in his sins because he fell to compromise. He divulged the secret of his strength, his hair, to an ungodly woman. The Philistines captured him and cut that hair that was a part of his vow to God. They gouged out his eyes and put him into an arena for sport. Satan and his human cohorts jeered. That should have been the end of it. God’s servant had been defeated. With his strength gone, he was in the minority now. With his physical eyes gone and his hair cut, but growing back, he lifted up his voice unto the Lord and poured out his heart:
Judges 16: 28-30
“And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead whom he slew at his death were more than they whom he slew in his life.”
Like Samson, my prayer is for one more time. It appears our spiritual strength has waned with a modern form of compromise. This may be our last vestage of strength. Our spiritual eyes have been dimmed and the many “gods” of this land have all but extinguished our sight. To many, even now, if you take a stand for Jesus Christ, you are “sport” in the arena. My prayer is this:
Lord, give your people more time. Place our hands on each faulty pillar of American society that the house of ungodly laws may come down.
This election is a turning point. With a president who appears to be hostile to the Christian faith and apologetic about American life to others in the global arena, there is one choice that we have to try to turn our country around. The end times are here. The question is not if the Antichrist spirit will physically take over our society but WHEN he will take over?
I am praying like Samson of old: O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once.
With the spiritual decline of America escalating and ungodliness on the rise, we are at the end of the age. Strengthen us, Lord, and give your people a new strength: one more time.
