Prepared for Peace in the Midst of the Storm
“And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
Yes, even the wind and sea obey Him. Your storm belongs to Him if you let it.
There has never been a more turbulent time than now. Some of us are safe at the present time only trusting our Lord for each day. While some are blinded by the comfort they have at the moment. They do not see the danger just around the corner. For the spiritually blind you will need peace in the days ahead because none of us shall escape all of the coming storms. This is a warning to you. The end times are here and it will depend on Whom you trust whether you ultimately come out on the other side or not.
Isaiah 43: 2
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
I was going to wait until after the election but there has been such an upheaval lately in the lives of many of my friends and loved ones. If the ones I know are going through hard times then what hardships are those I do not know going through? My heart is burdened.
God sees you. He loves each one of His children: those children that He bought with his own blood. God is calling His people to be His hands and His heart. He doesn’t want us to be destroyed by trials. He wants us to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is living inside of us: the hope that others do not have because they are apart from Him.
2 Corinthians 4: 7- 12
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.”
In these turbulent times I realize that I need the Lord to help me more than I ever have before. I feel like I fall short of all He wants me to be but I want Him to make me into a vessel He can use. Perhaps these trials are meant to refine me because I am reminded that He has challenged me to buy of Him gold tried in the fire. (1Peter 1: 7) The ungodly will attack and situations will arise but I have Jesus Christ alive in me. In the days ahead I want to be prepared to be that person who shows others that Beacon of Hope: Jesus.
1 Peter 3: 14-16
”But if you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are you: and, Be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ”
I listened to Blogtalk Radio the other night and heard some of the most vile things coming out of the mouth of the godless as they listened then attacked Usama Dakdok on his Saturday night program, “Revealing the Truth About Islam”. He was bringing Christ’s warning and he was being attacked. He was verbally suffering at the hands of the godless. As Usama was speaking, the evil in others, both on the phone and in the chat room, was evident as he attempted to speak the truth and warn of the coming spiritual storm. I know that the spiritual flood waters are silently creeping up the streets while many are sleeping in the dark. This silent storm is coming and the spiritually blind want the watchman silenced so their sleep is not disturbed. “As it was in the days of Noah…..
Matthew 24: 37-39
“But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
Kristie Johnson was sharing part of her story of Hurricane Katrina with me. Mississippi heeded the warning of imminent danger of a direct hit. They suffered greatly but help could arrive to clear roads and minister to the people because of the righteous action of those in charge. In many cases, the National Guard cleared roads for helping hands to move into the ravaged areas so they could proceed with supplies. On the other hand, in New Orleans they were not prepared for the storm. The dikes broke and thousands flocked to higher ground in the stadium. They could not be easily reached. It wasn’t a direct hit by the storm that caused that. It was the waters that kept creeping up the street and overtook the masses who were unprepared and listened to those giving directions who were also unprepared.
With an apostate church, you cannot always listen to those around you for godly direction. Spiritually, each person should know what to do in an emergency. You must prepare individually NOW for the flood waters of the antichrist.
To those who have never asked Jesus Christ to come into your life, be prepared by asking Jesus Christ into your heart if you haven’t done so. Sin separates you from a holy God so you cannot do anything short of repentance to take that separation away. Preparation must begin by dealing with the sin that we all carry as part of the human condition. That issue is why we have such a fallen world. Pray, read the Bible, and find others who have solidly walked with the Lord for a while to inspire you and be your friend. Everyone needs encouragement.
Psalm 32: 6
“For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.”
For the true believer, God will keep us all in the storm. God is going to give His people strength and peace in the days ahead. It will not be dependent on what is happening around us. Like Peter, if we look at the storm we will begin to sink. The prepared believer will become a tower of strength to those around him and he will have that word of hope for others. Now is the time for those of us who know the Lord to press into a more intimate walk with the Lord than we have ever known. We must be able to stand for Christ even if no one else around us does. Knowing what to expect will help in your preparation process so study the Bible, your emergency manual, so that you may apply its principles.
Storms. Perilous times: Global war and global economic chaos, a national struggling economy with joblessness in America, the murder of diplomats and an obvious lying cover-up, a devastating summer drought in the heartlands, a terrible hurricane, a dead-heat election with our nation in the balance, ungodly laws promoting sin, abortion, an apostate ineffectual church with unbiblical doctrines and corrupt leadership, the rise of Islam that is threatening to take over the world.
We are at the end now.
Are you spiritually prepared for a coming storm?
